Ok guys. Goin to look at a 20 hp vanguard out of a generator with 100 hours on it. Will have to buy a carb to get from lp to gas again, what ya think this is worth??? Or go with a predator??
I've not had to use one, but the whole idea behind them is that they bush the tapered crank up to a 1" keyed shaft, which is what the 780 Comet fits on.

Ok.Thanks mike,I may get this motor and split from generator and see if this will work. price is right i think!!!
Ok,it's a 23hp vanduard and it was free of charge so I'm gonna give that adapter Mike shared and see what happens!!!
I will prolly be bothering some of you guys when it comes to the wiring of this motor also!!
Thanks
Dave Phelps
Dave I have a tapered comet duster I'll put in a box I you pay freight. You will need a spring and pucks but I think
It's funtcional. Was on a 2 stroke if taper is the same. I run one on my max 2.

I don't even know what pucks are!! Lol. If it was on a 2 stroke won't it be all wrong for the rpm difference??
The dusters take pucks which are weights. So you will probably have to install all the pucks it will hold. I think a two stroke only uses half the pucks. But i think generator's could have up to 3 different tapers so make sure the clutch fits before buying the pucks. Looks to me like the generator uses a 5 degree taper. Most snowmobiles use a 1/10 also known as 33mm taper which comes out to 5.71059 degrees taper. Just be careful and make sure it fits correctly don't want it flying off...

Thanks for all the info!! Probably gonna have to change the crankshaft I have a feeling!!
