  • Kohler magnum fuel pump

So last time out I had the argo die out on me 2 times while riding once was during a steep climb that ended with me slowly backing down and having to wait it out till it would start again and i managed to drive it up the embankment with my one hand pumping the little primer under the seat. after that it died out once again on flatter surface. Today I stopped by Argo and picked up a new fuel pump as ive read its good practice to replace em. well the argo fired right up and didnt have any issues so i look at the old pump and im not to sure how im gonna get in there to take it off it looks like its held on with 2 screws not bolts? anyways any insight is appreciated thanks guys.

yes common problem for them, its actually easy to get at after you take off the little flap that covers the pump, i had one that went and replaced the pump with a plastic one from a briggs vanguard, never had a problem since

the 2 screws you see only split the pump in half.the bolts are on the end.will take a picture of my old one and post it tomorrow.

Easy fix George, Take the 2 screws out that holds it in place and from there it's pretty self explanitory. I took one apart to see what was involved once to try and replace a dried out rubber, but no luck.

Figured id update, last weekend I replaced the fuel pump which really wasnt hard at all and cleaned the carb again. Took it out to my fav ride area and enjoyed a full day of great trail riding! lots of power and no bogging issues at all!
