That does suck, but what actually was damaged? I could see lines carb boots and wiring, but if it was put out quick I wouldn't think much would be damaged. Heck, my neighbor had that happen to a small outboard he was working on. Tossed a coffee can of stale gas he'd drained from the carbs/tank on it thinking it was water . He promptly realized his mistake and put REAL water on it. (We all realized his mistake, it's tough to miss a fireball in the neighbor's backyard) He still had it running (sorta) by the end of the day.

I just need to be able to use the machine this weekend coming up so I need to get it running like right now. I didn't completely toss out the idea of the phazer motor at all. I have been looking at an old attex machine that my friend has sitting behind the garage at his parents house it is pretty much just a shell with some axles no tires or anything. If I can get him to sell it to me I was thinking of building a custom track setup sorta like a tank and making the attex a track only vehicle complete with snowmobile tracks(I have 2 of the same tracks) and putting the phazer motor on that. I have a ton of old snowmobile parts so if I go that route I'll use the snowmobile drive sprockets on the 3 axles and add a small frame with idler wheels see if i can get like 15-16 inches of ground clearance. I really want my max to be a trail machine and get it as quiet as possible so I want to get a vanguard or a kohler(not sure which is better) but since a lot of you guys are running them I am assuming they are good motors.
