Everts Air Cargo in Anchorage weighed both my machines. The diesel was over 2200 lbs sitting on tires. I know what an avenger weighs. I can throw the all-steel tracks on, load up the machine, and also tow your thousand+ lbs in the trailer (more difficult than just loading up the machine). Now, i prefer to run without a trailer, but there are places it will go.....through, climb up and over.... only because it has the power and the traction, and the right set of tracks.
you know it's too bad I don't have my other machine in town. The gasser (red tank) "here" has a high-time engine and is burning quite a bit of oil from one cylinder...(both actually, but one worse than the other. If it wasn't for the ability to separate the ox "driving load" from the engine rpm, I probably couldn't even drive it in this terrain at this point as it blows a significant amount of oil up the breather and fouls 1 plug very easily if worked hard. There were a few places I had to stop, rotate the clutch by to ventilate the cylinders, clean the bad plug, jump in the other machine for a joy-ride, and eventually come back to carry on with the ox. I can crawl, but anything resembling a momentum-maneuver of any kind is very short-lived. It's gonna get a new heart soon, then we'll really be able to drive it like it's made to be driven. You can see how well the avenger does with even just a little speed.
