  • good tires?

thoughts on the hf 243 mud and sand tires. also will a 22 by 11 by 8 tire fit on a rim where a 22 by 10 by 8 tire was on?

They'll fit on the rim, but these are very dated looking tires and they don't swim at all. They're OK in the mud, but there are a lot of better choices out there.

I like the duros just took of the rawhides they slide around on the trail more than the duros. I suggest using 4 ply and around 4 psi or a tad more any less I seem to rim alot of rocks with the front tires on the duros. I think the rawhides ride lumpy because of the bars being apart further. They swim nice

The 22x11x8 Goodyear Rawhide III is one of the best all around tire for an AATV and they're not too expensive. They ride very smooth, they're stable and give you a good positive feel when driving, and are very good in the mud.....they aren't the fastest swimmers, but they do well. I have them on 3 of my AATVs and and have a couple extra sets as backups. The Carlisle AT101 tires aren't as smooth of a ride but they're a little cheaper. The AT101 has a similar tread pattern as the 21x11x8 Goodyear Rawhide, which is a completely different tire than the 22" Rawhide III. Another option is the 22" Argo tire, but that's a rather expensive tire.

I went with the Chen Shin Lumberjacks in 22x11-8 on my 83 Argo 8x8.

Price wasn't bad. They swam well. I have only one moose season them here in Alaska but I'm not regretting my decision...

Just a tip, the Duro's run narrow. Check this post for one opinion of a like tire.

Here is a pic of them on a Max with 8 inch wide rims, yours should be 7 inches wide. Notice the lack of bulge past the rims at 3psi, they are a pretty true 22".

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
