  • True tire diameter

Hello, I'm looking to replace the tires on my Argo Conqest. I would really like to go with the new Argo 24" tires to gain some ground clearance, and be able to move decently in water. My concern is that I live in the badlands, and I don't know how they will hold up. Do any of you know if the 22'' Rawhide III's, or the 21" Rawhide Terra are truly that diameter, or do they vary in diameter. Thank You FDMT

I think the 22's are close to 21-3/4, the 21's run smaller also, both of these tires are designed for 8" wide rims, mounting them on 7" wide rims will require more air pressure to keep the rim from hitting the ground.
I run III's on my Argo on Max rims with 1 psi, 1 psi on and Argo 7" rim created rim to ground contact (rim bead would contact inside of tire ground pressure as the tread would contour to ground surface) as the sidewall allowed compression from being pinched in too far.
III's are too wide for Argo plastic tracks.

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
    Joe Camel never does that.

Advice is free, it's the application that costs.

      ARGOJIM,
Thank you for the response and explanation. I think I will save my old 22's for running the tracks, and focus on getting a set of the 24'' argo tires for the rest of the time.
      Thanks again
