how much air pressure in rawhide 3's on a max ii?

i seem to always break the bead on one of my tires because of riding it too hard or not having enough pressure, etc. i read on here that 3 psi gives enough cushion, but that seems low to me, so i had between 5-7. do i need to add even more?

I'd run them at around 2-3 psi for a soft ride and good traction, but if doing that I would suggest buying "K lock" bead lock rims from Recreatives.......it is very difficult to pop a bead on these rims, even at only 1psi. Matt O. Has his own Beadlocks as well. I have not gotten any myself yet, but other members have talked about using them at 0psi and not breaking any beads. Thats a good beadlock!

No, like sixbysix said you want lower PSI for increased traction and the added benefit of a softer ride.

Believe it or not, even the difference between 1 and 1.5 psi makes a noticable difference. Most of my pals are running between .5 and 1.5 psi with the new RI rims and not popping beads at all...

that's what i thought, but why do you think the rear passenger tire always comes off the rim? the others don't...maybe i hit it just right??

try swapping it with another (like the mid-rear) to eliminate that theory, maybe it's a problem with the rim and/or tire on that one.

maybe its just a loose nut behind the sticks..... thats what they always tell me but seriously with the newer style rims i run around 1.5 lbs and i can do dognuts on the pavement and they all stay on!!!!
