Do those guys run the Executioner in the normal forward cleaning direction or backward?

The people that have Argo,s, and have used the frontier tires on their machines, are well aware of how fast the Argo frontier tires are in the water. Cobalt had a set of frontier tires on his machine before switching to the Kenda Executioners ,and to say that the Executioner tires rate as an 8 ( 80 % ) in water speed when compared to a Frontier tire that rate as a 10 ( 100 % ),, that sure says a lot!

Well I'm still saving pennies to buy tires but it's very nice to know there is a nearly direct replacement for my old Terras. On the other hand, the review of the Executioners by Cobalt really has me thinking about those tires. It sure would be nice to have the mud slinging potential that the Executioner seems to have and as I'm on 26" tires like he was I trust they would swim. If the the Executioners swam anywhere near as well as the Terras I'd go that route.

    cclingma,

The tire that you posted on smalltires.com sure looks like a 26 inch ,Good year, ' terra tires ' to me. On the Duro lug ag tires, the lugs of the tire taper towards the center of the tire, but on the Good year, terra tires, the lugs are the same thickness from out side to the center of the tire.

I appreciate all the info. I goofed up and said 25x12x12 when my tires are actually 26x12x12. I was looking at some 25s to try to save a few bucks but really want to go with the 26s again. I'll have to look a little further into the Executioners and the Terra copy. Thanks.

i have those Duro's on my Wild wolf. the ride isn't great, but not the worst i've driven either. they swim well, and are good in the mud. i'd rate them at 8.5 out of 10. whenever i have cash to buy tires for my wifes max, i'll probably buy another set. not sure about sizes though

    cclingma ,

The Kenda Exectioner tires are what the forum member cobalt is running on his Argo Frontier. Below is what he said about the executioner tire.

( QUOTE ) ' The 26"executioners swim almost as well as the original Argo 24" . However i can only make that claim for 26" as there is no longer much room between the tires and little to no water get's thrust upward.

Steering is a tad more sluggish than the argo tires.

I do sometimes have a branch or rock get caught between the tires so i put a think piece of metal on the tires wells.

As for mud slinging , marsh, muskeg, rock, gravel roads . The executioners remind me of argo tracks.

I use executioners on my atv, and utvs and are very saticefied with the lifespan and performance.

Lastly. My guess that smaller than 26" executioners on an frontier would not swim well due to the larger spacing. On my 6wd utv the executioners at the rear throw up a-lot of water.

On a scale of 1 to 10 over the original argo tires. I give the executioners about an 8.3 amphibious wise due to the steering lag. Land wise, 100% improvement over the original argo tires.

At 6 psi it tore up rocky hills.

If I had only known that the Kenda Executioner tires performed this good in the water, I would have chosen them over the $300 used Gator , atv tires that I drove 200 miles round trip to buy. The Gators are great in the mud, but they just creep across the water. Since the Vampire ASX tires are now no longer available, the Executioner tire will be my tire of choice for my Hustler Bigfoot.

    Duro Ag Lug

I posted up a question somewhere along the line about these Duro Ag Lug tires, then I thought I saw another post about them again later. I'd sure like to hear any comments on them as they make them in my Hustler size of 25-12-12. Do they swim...ride decent? Thanks
