Has anyone every tried them? How do they swim? Should I put them on forward or backward for best swimming ability?

I don't know about the GBC Gator 22" inchers ,but I know that the 26" inchers hardly move in the water.

I think if you put these tires on several machines it would be hit or miss for swimming. I have a set of 25" on my Max2 and they swim pretty good. They are nearly identical to MUDBUG tires with a slightly less tread height. I've tried them on my Argo and they are not impressive. I also tried them on my Super Swamp Fox and they swam well. It all relates to axle placement. The lower your axles are mounted in the body, the quicker you will swim with these tires.

They are completely worthless on the Max II.

How well did the 25"ers fit the MaxII? Do they rub at speed?

I used a heat gun and got a bit more clearance on the lower tub. Figure 2-3 hours work to do that. There's plenty of clearance now and they don't rub. The machine is very capable with the increased ground clearance. If you compare a vehicle with tires to another one with tires, this little Max2 has always come out on top.

IMG_0713.jpgIMG_0691.jpgMaxII axles are 25" center to center, so true 25" tires should touch each other. My winter project is a maxII with a lengthened frame to accept 25's easily. I know I can get at least 1/2" extra between axles, but I'm hoping for a full inch.....wouldn't 26"ers (with clearance)be cool? Add big HP and maybe even lower the gear ratio a tooth.

Thats going to be a cool project. The 25" Gators and Mudbugs actually measure 24 1/2 diameter at 3psi, Goodyear Rawhide 3s work as well on my Max2, but they don't pull as well in the mud, but they are better swimmers.

It's all Mikes fault. He got me hooked on the Idea. I'm going to reread his post about 25" tires on maxII http://www.6x6world.com/forums/max-a...es-max-ii.html
I'm sure I've forgotten important stuff.

That is going to be a great project. Do you know what tires you want to run? Perhaps the new Avenger tires?

Well I for one, think you're a pansy! Get two of them and cut them in half, and make an eight wheeler out of it!

That way, you could spend an entire year contemplating your next move, waffle selling it completely, amass too much money in parts and criticize yourself when you misprioritize other projects in its place....

Give me a call; I'll coach you along.

I like the blue bodies a lot. Get a heat gun and some home made beer and have at it! Very cool project. Custom stuff's the awesomest...
