I chose to leave it as-is and I will have a look at it in the spring/summer as my garage is unheated.

The set of tracks Smog has along with his Max is one hell of a winning combination. I was part of the trail ride yestureday at Prevost. Smog was like the sheep dog herding sheep. He quite literraly ran circles around the other machines. He got into some deep holes but was able to get out of every last one. I am very much impressed with his Max and his DIY rubber tracks.

Just thought i would throw this out there, make sure you keep the correct direction of rotation. I beleive that newer snow machine tracks are computer desighned to run just one way. It should say on them which direction that is. Just important to keep in mind if you run a particualar off set. Hopefuly im not repeating somone here. And has anyone put a dozen or so UHMW chunks on the tracks to support the track for on pavement purposes to keep from tearing up drive terain components yet?Alaska floating atvs group on face book. edit : and what make the Argo + trutrax worst than anything else is the closed cleat cell design packing with snow and the rigid segments making sure the snow stays packed in the closed cleats. Adair Argo found a way around this kind of design flaws and are significantly better.
edit 2 : you know, all the tracks made it up the hill at a certain point. it just took a lot longer for some while instant for others. So don't think it's a black and white situation.Last edited by smog; 02-14-2012, 09:10 AM.2008 MAX-IV 500T 30hp Bandolero
