    I think I'd go for the 27" Mud Bugs or the 27x12x12 Executioners. Even though they don't swim very fast, they do great in the mud. Most of the time isn't spent in the water anyways, so I think you'd be happy with either, Fred.

    I really with the Vampire ASX's were still made too. Interco needs to get those back into production soon!

        I was thinking about the mud bugs in 27" for my hustler because the 25" aqua torques look a little small on it. I will try them out after the engine swap is done.
        My collection: 2) attexes, 1) super swamp fox

          Yeah I do agree Jeff, Interco needs to get a move on it.

          By the looks of them, I think that the Executioners will be a better mud tire than the mudbug and Swamp Fox Plus (my third choice), with the Mudbug being the best swimming tire between the three. But like you said, most of the time I'm not in the water. Either way it goes, 27's is going to be the magical number. I'll let you know my choice after i finish the rebuild on the 23hp Kohler.

                ...just be careful how "big" your 27" tires are. My 27" Executioners don't run anywhere NEAR 27" tall on a 12" rim. Even running short, their is only about 1/8 to 1/4" between the center and rear tires on each side. I'm sure they rub at times, but as slow as it goes, it doesn't affect anything that I can tell. I think that Kenda claims that the 27" measures 26.39" high. I've not made an exact measurment, but I think that if they're a true 26.4", this is just about the upper limit. If you go out to buy a 27" tire and find out that it measures 26.8", I think you might need to rig up a Vaseline spray system to keep them moving.

                ::EDIT::

                I just saw this, and wanted to add that I think that a huge help to the Executioners in the mud, would be to get them moving a bit faster than the stock engine/gearing allow. Mine do pretty well in the mud, but I think they'd really move some real estate if I could get more rpm (a 'la- Pimpfoot engine) or just shorter gearing. If I do that, I'm just going to break more parts, so I'll let someone else give it a try before I follow suit...

                    Pertaining to Super swamp Fox Tires and Mud Bugs- A lot depends on the Machine-Mud Bugs swim about 2 MPH on a MaxII-there are several videos of Noels Woods MaxII with mud bugs posted and I have seen the machine in the water. When I had 27" super swamp fox tires on my Max IV and Lee had the 25x12x9 Mudbugs on his Argo Frontier my Max IV could swim circles around the Argo Frontier but the mud bugs were a better mud tire because they cleaned out so well and had less aggressive tread that moved the machine forward instead on digging in. I have seen the Kenda Executioners on Hydro Mikes Hustler and was very impressed with their mudding ability.

                    The absolute King in Mud tires is the ASX Vampire, the ASX's have a reasonable swim speed and top honors as a mud tire.

                        Yes, this is true. If only Interco would realize just how big our amphib community is and the big interest in their ASX tires.

                          I do feel your pain, along with everyone else. The Vamp's are most definetely the "Truth" when it comes to overall mud and swim tire. Shoot,,,,, the Vamps are like the "Micheal Jordan" of tires. Unfortunately, Jordan retired twice, so now I'm looking for a trust worthy "Scottie Pippen", if you sport guys can understand my lingo?!

                              The Outlaw radial has a much flatter profile than the regular Outlaw tire that Highlifter sells. This tire was designed for atv riders or for those people who own a side by side but are'nt into extreme mud riding or need a very aggressive mud tire like the popular Outlaw tire that the hard core mud riders like so well. This Highlifter radial is a 6 ply , low profile tire , and would ride extremely rough on any amphib. The large cupped side lugs on the regular Outlaw tire help it to paddle through mud and water, but the Highlifter radial tire does'nt have side lugs like this to help it scoop the water.
