  • Transmission question

Hi, it is my first post so I thought I would ask how hard it is to find a transmission for the attex 300. Baker finch 7000 transmission, this is my first atv. I am originally from Glenshaw, PA, and I lived only a mile from the factory as a kid. I can still remember seeing these things when they were new. Thanks in advance, any help is appreciated.

Welcome to the forum Randy. Check the parts for sale section. I believe member flippy is selling a baker hill tranny, but I am unsure which model it is that he's got. They do pop up for sale on here so its not impossible to find one. Heck I sold one a year and a half ago myself.
l like to buy stuff and no I don't do payments!

There were quite a few first generation Attexes out there and I actually sold a Baker Hill transmission a few years ago too. Keep an eye out and like Drew said, one will pop up.

Attex quit using the Baker-Hill's in favor of the Borg-Warner T-20.
T-20's are quite a bit easier to find, and are an excellent choice. You just may have to do some modifications to make it work though.

I don't think a T-20 would fit because the first generation Attexes were narrower than the later generation machines that used the T-20.

I'd be interested in the 6000 if Randy doesn't want it, Flippy.

Randy- I've got a 5000 that needs calipers that you can have for what I have invested (JP gave it to me). They're not as strong as the 6 and 7000 but if you're not going to use a very big engine it may be what you need.
Stuck in the seventies- not in the swamp.

                  (6) Attex, a Hustler, a Super Swamp Fox, (2) Tricarts, (3) Tri-sports, a Sno-co trike, 3 Dunecycles, and a Starcraft! ...so far
