I think Gasket and Seal kits are around 60 and the bands are 30 a piece x4 to get relined.

You can get the parts from RI or I get the parts from Motion Industies. As far as the damage or cost it needs to be opened to see the extent of the damage.

Transmission Crafters is currently relining T-20 bands for $35/each. Here's ARP35's invoice, and my invoice was the same for a set I had done last fall.

Like Toys4Me says, a lot of the O-rings and seals are generic pieces that can be found almost anywhere including RI, Motion, local hardware store, McMaster-Carr, etc. If you need any of the internal hardware (bearings, drums, replacement bands, shift collars, plungers, etc.) they're only available new from RI or as used pieces from other members. RI has provided a seal kit in the past that includes all of the seals, the O-rings and the case-half gaskets, along with new thrust washers, snap rings, c-clips, fiber washers, etc. I've always found it easier to get the complete kit mainly because RI used to be very local, and could often get a good break on prices. If the machine has just been sitting for a while and the transmission didn't exhibit any problems in the past, you might be able to just get away with a fluid change and a double-check on the band adjustment.

If you open up a T-20 the case half gaskets should be purchased from RI. The gaskets give the clearance for the internal parts. Using just a sealer on the case and center support can leave no end play. I would order the gasket and seal kit from RI or a dealer.
