My belt sticks out of my secondary clutch is there a spacer or something that could be missing in between the sheaves? I'll post a few pics when I figure out how to

I'll be darned if that belt just doesn't look to be the wrong size 'dawg. What does the top width measure on it? I'm guessing over 1.25". I'm not around Argos that much but speaking generically, your clutch looks like it's spaced about properly, if not a bit on the wide side already. I don't know what top width your machine calls for, but I think 1-3/16" would fit in there a lot better.

It's definitely the right size belt. I just ordered a new one and the new one is a touch wider. Yes it shifts fine it's just our other machine the belt sits more flush so I figured maybe there was something missing it's a new machine to me.

With most CVTs anywhere from flush or just below flush up to about 1/8" proud is good. It's hard to tell from the pic exactly how high it is, but it doesn't look bad to me.

I'd imagine the other machine has more sheeve wear.

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
              Joe Camel never does that.

Or the clutch could be older with a weak spring.

I have about 1/4" with the new belt. If you say it's good I'll run with it I just didn't want to screw up a new belt.

1/4" is too high. just below flush to 3/32" proud is normal, up to 1/8" proud is fine.

Wel there you go, that'll do it. I'd order both and use whatever was needed to set the belt just above flush.

Figured it out and found the spacer. Somebody put it behind the helix in front of the retaining clip all back together about 1/4" proud and looks much better. Thanks for the help guys.
