  • Max II drifting to right when trying to go straight

    Hello,

I have a 96 Max recently restored and finding it likes to drift off to the right slightly which I always have to correct bumping the left lateral about every 60ft. Has all new bearings-chains-grease and the T20 channel/plunger adjustments looks and was measured spot-on. I have tried measuring/double check air pressure on the tires....also putting one side with less air to compensate...but still the drift. Axles are straight too. Now if I pull back on left lateral couple of inches to slightly disengage it runs straight but now I am l not getting my full power on left? Do I need to rethink the T20 band adjustments? New fluid/slip additive is also new in tranny.... springs are still attached also. Any suggestions would much appreciated.

Is it possible that one or more tires on the left side are greater in diameter even though you have set the tire pressures equally?

I tried putting less air/smaller diameter on left...but same results

Measure the diameter or circumference of each tire and get them all the same size regardless of pressure. See how it drives then.

Swap all 3 tires on each side to the other side to see if the problem is tires or in the chassis.

If the pull is slight it may be something that is just too much trouble to fix... much like a car that pulls a little because roads are sloped to the center. You drive all day and don't think about it.
