  • trans problems

i picked up a muskratt muscateer or a muscateer muskrat (not sure which i have) anyways It has two sticks and two peddles. the peddles work and one stick works. the machine went forward ok and back very good. She only turns right. Nothing to the left. I pulled the trans and found the stick that did not work has a missing friction like material(like from a clutch). some parts were laying in the atf fluid. any idea what friction like material is called. THe setup has a plate, friction material, gear, friction material, plate. mcmaster has this brake and clutch lining. McMaster-Carr
anyone have any idea what that material is called or have any info on the machine. thanks

Sweet, is it a Honda or a Chinese copy? My 208tt is running a powermax 16hp Honda copy. For the most part its a pretty good motor. Real cheap too. Always starts no mater how cold it is. My brother has some 13hp Chinese in his crazy colt. Its really the same thing as my 16. I don't really even see a power difference.

There's a line under each picture that says "Linked Thumbnail" just copy that and paste in the post, and you'll get a thumbnail linked to that photo. Took me a little while to figure that out myself . Anyway, looks nice, you sure did quite a bit to that machine.

Then the Toyman produces one and now there are "Three Muscateers"

Mine will more than likely begin a transmission restoration today. I'm going to test drive it one more time following my attempt to adjust it properly. Previous owner had been into it and altered the settings.
