Evacuating fluid from a T-20

For the past few years when changing the transmission fluid I've been using a cheap hand pump to pump the fluid out ( it functions like a bicycle pump ). Here's a pic of it Mity Vac Fluid Transfer Pump - Model 7240 at Sears.com


While this solution works, it's not very elegant and the pumping mechanism is a bit rough on the palms.

I was wondering if anyone had a better tool for the job.

I removed the drain plug and installed a valve in its place , then attached a flexible hose to it. To drain my Max II trains I simply pick up the front of the machine to nearly vertical (winch or whatever) open the valve and go do something else for awhile. The hose is routed out a drain hole and into a pan. No mess, easy as can be. The valve and hose stay in the machine, tie it off to something with a zip tie.

That's kind of along the lines I was thinking, maybe use a drill powered pump similar to this one to help the process. Maybe use it on the motor also...

I like the idea of a hose that's routed out of the drain hole. I don't think I have anything in the garage that I could use to orientate the Buffalo vertically..

I like the drill pump idea. Boatersworld in Lewisville has it, I may try to run out there today at lunch and pick one up...

The Max II I'm working on has the valve and hose on it. Easier to change the T-20 fluid than the oil and filter on the engine.

I posted in the thread about oil evacuation! Check it out. The pump I use is super fast, verry little pumping & is self contained, no having to use a drill, or be near a power source!
