How can i check my MaxIV transmission to see if its good ,,is there a test i can give it here at home ,,what do i look for ,, is there sounds that it makes when it is bad or going out ,,

of course the only spare i have is a right side. i was able to move the selector into forward with a screwdriver and limp it back to the shop at least
Luckily all I need is a carriage bolt. And Race, I've seen dowel pins in hardware stores, maybe you can get a correct size (Screw extractor should get that roll pin) for a buck or two and get going quick. I do know R.I. sells hardened pins pretty cheap too as I've already broken a pin in the wolf (Old T-style Pin)

I'd hope so. I don't know why My adjuster broke, Zipping around the yard, gassed it and POW! It was the Carriage bolt that goes thru the frame and has the tensioning nuts on it. Don brought up a good point though, about the detent springs inside the tranny on each shift drum. If you can pull it apart I'd check it. Something had to cause the pin to wear or they would have never shoved a roll pin in there. If that spring is missing, you'll wear your pin quicker. Come to think of it, now I think I should also do so on my Wolf's tranny,
