Sorry to disagree with you disagreeing but how many tires are powered during a skid steer verse counter rotate? What the brakes were doing the engine is now doing. The Machine is trying to go forward and backwards at the same time. How can that use less hp?

Maybe we are talking about 2 different things....I'm speaking of when my machine is in the back of the garage sideways. Sliding the tires sideways (skid steering) on the concrete takes quite a bit of throttle. Counter rotating does not. Maybe on soft soil or greased ice skid steering takes less HP

Well maybe it is not that it is easier but just uses more power? Another way to think of it is your engine is doing what the brakes were doing so the engine has more load. But it still seams harder to me.

The last hustler i had was a blast to counter rotate,it didn't seem to take an excessive amount of throttle either.

I think the clutch on the T20 may be the culprit, The clutch on my Swamp Fox recently did this and needed to be replaced. If you observe the secondary clutch on the t-20, (while the machine is on a lift) you can tell by watching the spring compress or by watching the belt change position in the pulley, if either or both isn't fully engaging, you have a problem there. If they are working properly and you can switch power in opposite directions, then the problem may be the bands in the t-20. The friction material may be worn to the point that it will work without load, but under load do nothing.
