i dont think its from a short key problem or position 1 on the spring just normal wear on the clutch the driven clutch does not have much outward force as turned force the tighter the spring the more the force on the key than on the snap ring

im going to try to take some weight out of the drive clutch and see how it performs 5 g at a time got to find a electronic scale first that might decrease the up shift time
if you think you cant just try it any way you wont know till ya do

a good way to check the tension on the secondary is hold the outter in a vise and put vise grips on the inner ( the one with the spring ) and use a fish scale to pull on the grips when it starts to move thats your lbs of tension

pull all the way to where the clutch would be open and that will be your rate

wish i would have checked my secondary clutch snap ring a little better.damn thing came apart in a real bad place.snap ring fell out plus i lost one of the nylon pawls.had to run out 200yds of rope to get winched out then towed back to camp.got the clutch off and wrapped a pce of wire in the snap ring groove.thank god the wire held for the 12 mile ride out.
