Hello Gents, I have an issue. I just replaced my early model T-20 with a newer model T-20 because the holes that hold the diamond shifters were not in spec, making it hard to shift between gears.
I swapped the trannys and i put everything back together almost with ease until I noticed the my newer T-20 planetary gear plate (the plate with the 3 holes in it that holds the gears in place) had a small crack in it so i replaced it with the older one. No harm no foul I suggest. I may have put it in wrong (wrong side up, but i didn't think that it would matter, or does it?)
Then my bands, that was all layed out according to how i took them out went back in great except for the right side. I had to switch the plunger on the top band to get the bands in ( bottom band plunger up going one direction and top band plunger down going in the other direction).
Both halves meshed together well and I threw the tranny back into my Hustler. Now here comes the problem.
-with the shifter in reverse, pulling back on the laterals, the driverside goes forward and the passenger side does nothing
-withe the shifter still in reverse, pushing forward on the laterals, the driverside does nothing(brakes) and the the passenger side goes back.
I think that the problem could be resolved if I flipped the drums and flip the planetary gear plate! What are your suggestions?
