I cant answer any argo questions but Abs will melt with acetone. You can dap some on with a q tip in a non noticable spot. Rub it around and see if it react at all. Poly bodies will do nothing.

I have a 15 year son as well and I’m trying to convert him from his Quad to become a 6x6er...

It's tough because he loves the speed of the Quad but he also very much in love with "Mudding" and thats where the 6x6 is the best.

We are also in Ontario and there seems to be a few us lately on the board… Maybe one day we will convince everyone to come to Ontario for a Group ride event..

One of the biggest hurdles is that 6x6'ers have in Ontario is that we do not get the same recognition as the Quads on the provincial trail systems. “Although I feel we do less environmental damage”

We have some work to do here for sure if the 6x6 sport is going to morph and to also be considered be a recreational machine other than just for utility and hunting aplications

Welcome to the site. I had a Powerfist 15 hp mounted in my 83 argo and went about 5 feet either way and the engine quit. would not run without full choke. So i put a 18 Kohler twin in. I too am frustrated with not being able to run on the quad trails. Something to do with insurance or so I was told yet I have as much insurance as the quads and am plated. I can drive down the road but not on sanctioned trails. Sounds just about right. Anyway, hope you have lot's of fun. I am still fooling around with mine to get it right. Next project is a set of tracks out of snowmobile tracks

Very nice. That 13 will last forever, and your exhaust is very stealth. That makes for a great hunting machine. Keep up the good work.

Ya they say because we sit side by side in the machine and because we are over a cartin width we are not a atv, but we need atv plates and insurance! Thats odd about what happened to your engine, i have no problems with mine. Good luck with your argo!

Im finally making some good headway on my argo! just finished replacing my inner and outer front bearings and all the ideler shaft bearings. Every piece of chain is new, every bolt I tuched is new with nylock nuts, every piece of wiring is new, new fuse block, homemade ground block, new head lights, new taillights, bilge pump, new seals in the transmission, new 3000lbs superwinch, homemade winch mount that ties to the frame, 850 cold cranking amp deep cycle marine battery, new seat, under seat storage and air horns

A big thanks to Robinhood02 fo giving me and yellowargo the idea of making a lift it works great!!! and makes working on the machine so much easer!!

Next on the list is to do the outer bearings on the back 4 axels before may 24 weekend for a argo ride. Hear is a video of my progress.

I'm just guessing, but yours looks very similar to my 77 KB model 8x8.

You said you replaced all your wiring. Did you buy a complete harness or just sort it out and replace the old wires?

I'm curious because my wiring has seen better days.

I tore out every piece of wire when i dissasembled the agro and made a new harness from scrach when i put it back together. I bought a universal trailer wireing kit to get a the diffrent colour wires , a bunch of push-pull switiches, and a fuse panel. I even made the hrarness to relocate the ignition switich and engine circuit breaker from the engine cover to the dash.

Im sure it would be easer to make your own harness that try to find a replacement for your argo.

welcome powerfist, you said that you had 3 bolt wheels. my guess is that you are late 60 to early 70. that said, my fiiance bought a 76 6x6 argo and it has 5 bolt wheels, with the left side drive levers. in here argo is a 11 horse honda. looks very similar to your 13 hp. and has no problems moving it around either. good luck with yours. we are doing a complete rebuild to hers, hoping to have all new running gear and back together before fall comes. we have stripped the frame out and refinished it, just need to get the tub all sealed before putting everything back together.

Thanks for the information. I'll put it on my list of things I still want to do. I will probably just copy what I have and make improvements where I can.
