Yikes thats cool, you know that swap I had some thoughts on some time ago, guess its a good one and that motor is likely the one that is in my 2006 Arctic Cat T 660 turbo touring its a 3 banger intercooled turbo built by Suzuki there were a number of years they used that motor,it runs a small turbo was claimed to be 50 ish horse without the turbo and 110 ish with, not using the sled much better get the wrenches out.Hey Smog lookin for a project.LOL

I've been thinking someting along the same lines. I have a '99 Yamaha Mtn Max 700 Tripple, never use the sled, but have considered putting the engine into an Argo. Not sure how I would do that though. If I ran the Yam motor in it's power range, I think the Argo would be moving at about Mach 1 or better, lol, and Holy Crap, would it be LOUD.

if you go to a KEI car importer, yu can also get that 660cc turbo engine they use everywhere from the tiny convertible to the urban delivery 4x4.

but I would stay with the 1L for parts availability or go with the 4 stroke snowmobile engine (or jetski engine)

My m18 kohler starter packed it in just when I wanted the Argo to be up and running. It was just as easy to pull the engine to get at the starter than to stand on my head to get the starter off. While the engine was out I thinks to myself, it's getting hard to start, smokes a bit, maybe I'll pull the heads and have a little boo. SO, now I'm into rebuild mode when I came across the Chevy engine swap and a light went off in my head. Is there any pics of the installation floating around? I am going to try and locate a Sprint in the nieghbourhood before I stick any money in the Kohler.

As I just finished the HomeMade tracks project and I'm always thinking about something new, I went under the Max IV hood to take some measurements.

To make this fit, I would need a custom oil pan and pick-up tube along with the new "tall" engine cover RI is using on the big Kohlers.

I wonder how they made it fit under the Argo hood.

                      Slim,

can you take pictures inside the engine bay ? like how the engine is supported and the way the starter is installed on the ring gear ?

                      thank you

You'll have to wait till I get home. I'll try a video of the engine compartment to show the mounts.

Slim, at least 2 people here in Montreal are SERIOUSLY looking into the same kind of project. one in an Argo Bigfoot and the other in a conquest. Whenever you can add detailed pictures, please add them as it's a VERY interesting swap for us.

                            Sprint engine

I just did this this afternoon. The lighting isn't very good and there is not much room in the engine compartment to take pictures. I can take more video but \i need to get better lighting.

Thanks Slim I just took out a 94 geo to put into my Trackster. If that goes good the Argo will be next. I'm looking for a little more speed. Thanks again Terry
