I came across a Bigfoot last week. On Rigs of Rods (How ATV's Were Born) "Off-Roader" has not so secretly posted a picture of one he has. I remember seeing one on eBay several years ago listed somewhere down South, it was pictured parked outside under a tree, apparently rusting away. I wonder if he got that that one, or if it's another.

oops that's the picture, sorry, somehow I must have been replying in a different part of the thread and I didn't see that here. However, I am curious if that was the one I saw listed on Ebay. I remember I was very disappointed I didn't have anything to get it with.

Do we know yet what exact parts it needs besides the tracks? I may have a JLO 399/2 available over late winter.

I talked with Matt tonight, he said the engines did not need to match but I think they would have. Do they list the engines in the brochure on the site? He has driven clutches but needs the drive clutches for the engines he ends up using.

        Keith.

          Hi Guys,
Yes Ranger Rick this is the same Attex Bigfoot you seen on ebay about 6 or 7 years ago now. I purchased it from the son of the last owner of Attex. His father had passed away and he was selling off some of the old Attex stuff. I bought the Attex Bigfoot, a Attex Winsue, and a shop press that was in the attex factory. We press our wheel studs into the Mudd-Ox hubs with the press still today!!! I somtimes wonder what it would have been like to go through the Attex factory. I also have a drawing on how to mount a snow plow on a Attex that was in the factory. I have the Attex bigfoot sitting on 16 qty 22x12x8 Goodyear rawhide 3 tires. I am in need of the 13" argo plastic track. That is what Attex used on this machine. It will not drive without tracks as only the front and rear tires have drive chains. The center wheels are not powered. I want to thank Keith for his track donation. If anyone has a set of tracks they would like to sell I would be interested in buying them for this project. I will post some photos as we make progress.

          Matt

Very cool to know, Matt! I see some deals pop up on those plastic Tru-Trax every now and then on Craigslist. If I see anymore I'll be sure to forward a link to you immediately so we can see this beast move once again.

Nice little video Nick. I think it does a great job of showing people this great piece of Attex history and what Matt is up against as a restoration project.

JP, the 13" Argo tracks that the Bigfoot came with as did the other Attexes and Argos from that period are different from the Tru-Trax. I have talked to the gentleman that owns Tru-Trax and his tracks are/were narrower than the ones used by Argo and Attex at that time. What Matt ideally will be looking for is 13 inch wide track links. Some will say nothing on the track link and others will say Argo on the link. Maybe Nick can post a couple pictures of the track links I gave Matt so people know what he is looking for. Also if anyone knows how to contact member L.D.Bruce please let him know Matt is looking for tracks. L.D. had a set of tracks for sale at one time. I have sent a PM to L.D. with no response.

Looks like a very interesting piece to save. I hope with a little help, Matt can find the energy to make it happen. Keith.

That's not an AATV, It's an AATPartyPontoon. I know there's room on there for a keg, and a few of JP's friends.

Absolutely! Let's make it happen.......I can see this being a perfect machine for another 6X6World bumper sticker photoshoot.

I think we still need to find Matt a couple 16hp briggs IC engines with drive clutches and some track. Then I bet he would supply the keg.

                        Keith.

And I'll supply the girls.....they'll only be wearing bumper stickers and after that keg starts getting low, I'm sure that would change!
