so i dont have any pictures of my amphicats, but i can tell you the body on one has the dash portion broken off, and the drive train, other than trans, has rusted really bad. the other one has faired a bit better, some body cracks, but the drive train looks like it could work again, both are missing tires, but i see there are some adapter hubs that can be made. ill post pictures if i can figure out how to do that, i tend to work out in the shop, not on the computer!

HI everyone my name is Ted and I am thinking of getting into this atv thing as a fun hobby to do in my spare time. I am a designer in the mechancial field and was thinking of designing a 6 and 8 wheel atv vehicle to play with. So stay in tune for pictures and plans to follow afterwards for anyone else who would like to have a low cost atv to play with!

Welcome amphiboy, Shawn H and theohans.
amphiboy, feel free to ask any questions. We will do our best to answer them.
Shawn H, Member Whipper has made some for Attex and Max but never an Argo. Its a pretty extensive kit and is not easy to make and needs a argo there to measure and such. Im not sure if he would make one for an Argo or not. Maybe if you go to Pine Lake raceway next meeting you can check them out and talk to him about them. Its a blast there and even if you dont race, there is also plenty of trail riding.
Ted, Good luck with your project and welcome to the site!

Hi Shawn H .
Whipper isn't back from the Dunes yet, but I think I can answer your question. Whipper never had any plans to develop a suspension for an Argo, but our good friends to the north have.
If you search the Argo Forums, you should find a thread titled Argo Springer. There are some videos that you can watch, too. If you direct any questions to member Martwell or pm him, I'm sure he can help answer any questions.

Good Day All...
Just want to thank you all for the information I have found here.
I just purchased a 1983 Argo 8 wheel and can't wait to get the thing out for a run. I had rented a trailer to get it home and for the last two weeks it's been sitting here at the house. As soon as I have a bit more time I am going to build a riser over the wheelwells of my truck to get it to the edge of town... ANTICIPATION IS KILLING ME!
The thing appears in great shape other than the fact that it needs a windshield. No cracks in the body, starts without hesitation. It sat for a while so tires are a bit cheesy. two of them seem to lose air pressure over a period of 2 to 3 days, but i think some slime will fix this. Once I can afford a set of tracks, I think this thing will be almost perfect.
Anyway... good to meet you all.
