  • Welcome to the site, everyone! I believe that 6x6World member Marc from Germany has a Poncin. You might want to contact him or post a new thread in the "Other AATVs" section of the site for more information on these machines.

    • I wonder if that's Marc and his VP3000 in the Youtube video. He doesn't have a 3000 listed under his profile, but I see a couple tarped up AATVs in the background, and it looks like Marc in the video...

I wonder how many Poncin's are over here in the 'States.

      • Shawn, LivingSky and Brian, welcome to the site!

Shawn, thank you for the kind words. There are some great, helpful and knowledgeable members here.

LivingSky, while you are waiting to build your platform, upload some pictures of your Argo to the gallery so we can all check it out.

Brian, those Poncins look super cool.

          • whats up guys. Just bought a 1997 max II 18hp last night and I know absolutely nothing about them or how they work, so I figured this would be a great place to start asking questions. I live in alabama (roll tide) and do lots of hunting, which is why I bought the max. Anyway, just wanted to say hey, and thanks in advance for all the advice, cuz i know i'll need it.

You're in good company there with all the Carolina boys and girls! The AATV scene is pretty big down there. Come meet up with us at the next Busco Beach ride! Welcome to the site......I'm sure some of the Carolina folks will chime in here soon.

I don't know of any carolina members that are too close to you, but we get together twice a year to ride at Busco Beach in Goldsboro. (usually April, and October)

                    • Hello,
New to 6x6 wolrd a couple of weeks ago, to busy reading to say hello.
From Eastern canada, spend lots of time in the woods
I've been saving my nickles for 10 years for my first argo purchase and i keep waiting for the next years model becasue of the improvements.
                      Couple of questions
1 if i buy new should i spend the extra and get the Admiral Transmission (planning on buying the Argo frontier) or buy a left over 2010, getting some pretty good deals offered on the 2010?
2 looking at a very nice 2001 bigfoot, nice price, great shape so my buddy who has one told me, has 18 inch super tracks, doesthe 18 hp vanguard have the power to turn these trcaks on this machine?
                      Your thoughts would be appreciated
                      Harold
ps - i'm a little older, no ripping and tearing for me, just a little putting around hunting and fishing, maybe plow the yard as the bigfoot has a plow as well.

                      • An 18 is plenty with tracks, unless you go 10,000 ft + altitude. The frontier is a lot nicer, longer wheelbase, better ride(tires/seat foam) the 23 hp is nice. But the equipped bigfoot could be appealing for the $.

If you take the tracks off the bigfoot, you'll be running the little 22" tires, while the frontier would use the better 24". The frontier gets around fine w/o the admiral trans. there and different transmission ratios available you might discuss if you get the frontier, the tracks would make it higher geared..(taller)

                            Hello 6x6 world!
I'm new to the site, but not to amphibious atv's. When I was a kid my grandfather owned an alsport tracker! What a machine! I remember fondly riding with gramps on his property thru the low lands of Wiscosins Lake Noquebay, near Crivitz, and than crashing into the water- paddling at 5 mph!
I watch ebay all the time hoping to find one, but they are now scarce. Granpa got me started with all the "Toy's" and the love of "up north" ! I have owned many different 4 wheel atv's but am now thinking about amphibious ones again due to my own "up north" property near Minocqua, Wi.
                            Love the swamp river video!
Everyone stay dry(just kidding, the wetter and muddier the better)
