        • Hi my name Don, Iam new the sport and bought an old max 6x6, it rolls freely and the transmission shifts easy, noe for the bad sat out side for a while. The gas tank had bad gas and most of the wires were cut or spliced bad. Motor not running at this time the tag on the motor reads
          Hirth Motoren
          Type 210 r4
          Hubraum 399 ccm
          Motornr 536104
The body is pretty rough some splits in the tub and many cracks in upper body. Looking for help on the engine, parts to rebuild or just try to run it.

          • Hi Don, welcome to the site. For the motor, if you will start a new thread in the engine forum with the same information, someone should be able to help you identify it. A picture would also help greatly. Good luck with your Max rebuild.

            • Just picked up a brand new Argo 750 HDi today, (seemed like an appropriate accessory for the GoPro Camera we have!) Lol.
Looking forward to going beyond our 4X4 Bronco's off road limitations to capture wildlife shots year round.

                  • Hi everyone,I am new to aatv's so I will be asking alot of questions. From what I have been reading, there is a large amount of info from so many with a common interest. I too have great interest in offroading. I am a mechanic by trade but lack the experience in aatv's.
My new project I just brought home is a Scrambler. Year etc... unknown,. some of what I do know about is... -It has a steering wheel, bench front seat, electric reverse option, front headlights, 4 bolt hubs, kaki green in color, has no engine.
Other than it missing the engine, it seems in very origional condition with a perfect body (rotten tires thou), and missing the fuel tank. I am not sure wheather to restore or slight mod. Any thoughts?
I have already learned alot from all of you by reading your posts. Thank you.

                      • Len, The restore to original or mod question is a tough one. If you can mod it in a way that it works better the oem I would. Just as long as you are not cutting holes in the body to make a motor fit or something. Most any other mod could be reversed easily. But having one near oem is cool too. I guess it depends on what you are going to do with it. Good luck with your machine and welcome to the site.

Great site lots of helpful people and info, looking forward to leaning more about my argo conquest. I got it for hunting and land management so far it has proven to be the right choice, just need to learn a bit more about maintenance on the argo and make a tool kit so i don't get stuck in the woods trying to use a stick instead of an adjustable wrench or ratchet. its a 2001 conquest with lots of little add ons: Custom aluminum cover/cage with ladder to a diamond plate roof, internal lights, reverse light, xenon spot lights, 2500 pound winch and plow, plow slowmoving vehicular yellow strobe light, rear electrical outlets for trolling motor etc, optima yellow deep cycle battery (tight fit) and tracks.

I have a few questions about breaks and chain adjustments, also about tires and axle extensions.

                          • Hi conquest7, welcome to the site. There are a couple of pretty good threads on tools to take with you while on the trail. You can check them out by using the search. Same thing goes for the technical questions but if you don't find what you are looking for, feel free to start a new thread and someone should be able to help you out.

                            • Been watching this forum for some time.

Went out and bought an Argo 6x6 and jumped into the world of land and water.
Been running quads and snowmobile for many years, but had to try something new.
Really enjoying so far. Replaced some chains and sprockets. I do small engine repair
so this is up my alley ha.ha.
