Hi, I'm BearClaw. My brother in law and I bought a 1999 Argo Bigfoot 6x6 a couple of months ago. After having a little routine maintenance done on the Argo, I decided to try it out on the pond on the family farm. Being the first time in the Argo on water I decided to take the cell phone out of my pocket in the event I got wet. I got to the middle of the pond and couldn't get the Argo to go anywhere. It mostly spun the tires and churned up all the stinky stuff on the bottom of the pond. I really didn't want to swim in the pond after stirring up all the crap on the bottom, but was beginning to think I had no other choice. So there I was in the middle of the pond, no cell phone, no one knowing where I was, and the Argo just spinning the tires and going nowhere. Finally, after about 1/2 hour I got it to move maybe 10 feet toward the bank where it grabbed the bottom of the pond and climbed onto the bank.
What I want to know. Is there some trick to getting the Argo 6x6 to swim the max 3 miles per hour it is suppose to travel in water? I'm willing to try again, but this time I'll take a paddle with me.
