        • Hi everybody.I live in Queensland Australia,s east coast and have had a swag of argo,s over the years and just found another when i was looking for a off road buggy on the net.Oddly enough argo,s are pretty thin on the ground over here so wherever i go in it i attract a crowd and end up with a buggy full of kids big and small. The problem is the cost an 8x8 new goes for $20 000 to $25 000 so that buys a lot of play things so second hand ones are expense but what the heck ya only live once.My problem is heat it gets bloody hot over here so i have drama,s when i work it hard.Does anybody make a good after market carby that bolts onto the 18 hp briggs or do i have to put up with the standard piece of junk. Can anybody help.Cheers cobbers Dave

            • Hello to all the 6x6'ers on 6x6 World. My name is Paul. I live in Goose Creek SC. I am retired from the Navy/Coast Guard. Back in the early 70's,I was a lighthouse keeper on an island off the tip of Long Island NY. It was a large island that was used by the US Agriculture Dept for testing animal diseases. It is a large island that from the early 1900's was a US Army coastal defense fort, which held large artillery batteries for the defense of Long Island Sound. The Coast Guard had a lighthouse on the western end of the island guarding Plum Gut narrows, which is a fast current body of water. My light was a small light with a granite house with the light on the roof. I had 3 men working for me, an engineer, a seaman and a fireman. We didn't have any transportation on the island, so I was looking around for some cheap transportation. A small jeep was too expensive, so I looked for an atv to get around with. I read the MAX ad in the mags and found a dealer nearby at Riverhead, so I ordered a MaxII from him. We got the Max on the island, and we just had a great time with that little buggy. We could go anywhere on the island except the animal pens and the labs, but the rest of island was ours. We had swampy areas, a beautiful beach, some small ponds and plenty of trails through the island we could go thru. I kept that Max with us until I got transferred back to NY. I couldt keep the Max so I sold it back thru the dealer I bought it from. I wished I could have kept it. Now I find that thru the years, time and tide have pretty much disabled me, altho I can still get around but not very good. I would like to try to find a used Max to get around with, I don't really want a motor wheelchair, I don't want to look like a rest home resident(yet), and I really had a lot of fun and enjoyment from the Max on Plum Island. I have looked around at various dealers and have found some, not many, for sale. If there are any members who know of, or have one for sale at a reasonable price, I would like to buy another Max. Thanks very much for inviting me into this group and I hope to keep up with the activities here. Best regards, BMCS Paul Palumbo, Goose Creek, SC

                  • Hi Jerry, welcome to the forum. If you will post a photo of your son's 6x6, someone should be able to help you identify it.

That's the red one with the roll bar and Chevron tread tires that was on Craigslist a couple days ago. You got a great deal on that machine, and to offset the cost of your custom build you could sell off the rest of the Max II parts to folks here on 6X6World. Welcome to the site!
