        • Newbie Here

Hey new guy here. I'm Murph. I live in Orange County, NY. Always been interested in 6wheelers. Just never had any cash. Well, I think the time has come to buy one. Been lookin on the site and theres alotta great 6x6's for sale. Now this will be my first. Any suggestions on what to buy? I like the Max II and the Hustlers look awesome. I'll probably be bugging the hell out of you guys when I get one. You know maintenance and stuff. Thanks guys

          • Hello everyone,

Just took possession of my first Argo it's a 1984 8x8 complete with tracks and a bimi cover. I have wanted an Argo for years but could not justify it in the past. I have a camp (cottage) near Killarney Ontario and I love to spend time at particularly in winter. I was discussing the possibility of putting a plough on my truck to keep the road open in the winter but my wife was against the idea. She asked what other options there were so I suggested an Argo with a plough. And low and behold she agreed that was a better solution. The planets and stars must have been aligned because a friend of mine who bought a used Argo last year had just decided on selling hers to upgrade to a newer one. I was ment to be.

I will be building a plough for it this summer so if anyone can offer any advice on building the plough itself or on ploughing techniques I would appreciate it.

The first major trip will be exploring some bush near my camp for my part time maple syrup business. Now that I have this baby I can access a huge maple grove that was too difficult to get to.

            • New kid on the block.

              Hello everyone,
I am the proud owner of a 2005 argo avenger that came with a plow and I
have had plenty of opportunity to push snow this winter.I ended up at this site seeking info.on tracks for my machine and from the threads I read I made the decision to purchase Bolduc 20inch tracks.I am a long time duck hunter in eastern Ontario and have hunted moose in Quebec for over 30yrs.

                • Another new "kid"?

Hi to all of you. My name is Robert Pickerd and live in the Bitterroot Valley (Stevensville) in Montana. I do not have an AATV now, looking for a another Hustler or old Max right now. I've had one of each. This seems to be the best of the aatv sites on the web!

                      • R.I.M.MAX6X6 James

Hi everyone my name is James. I live in Hannibal Mo. but i am originally from southern California. I just purchased a 1977 R.I.M powered by the famous G50B. My father puchased it from a guy 1982 just before i was born. This 6 wheeler was my child hood. We went to hungryvalley almost every weekend to ride dirt bikes and the 6x6. We moved to Hannibal in 1993 we didn't use it much when we got back here. In 1998 my father sold it. Which that just made me sad. Well a few months ago the guy that bought it contacted me and told me he was selling it. So this last friday i went and got it back. I surprised my dad and told him that i will never get rid of it. The guy did NOT take care of it at all. So i am gettin started on restoring it. I know i am gonna need some help and info so i'll be asking lots of questions. Well i hope to get to know you all.

                        Thanks
                        James

                        • Welcome to all of you and James, that's a great story. I guess you are really lucky that the second owner contacted you before selling it. That should be a fun restoration.

                            • Hi All ,

New here, tho I have been sittin back reading for sometime. An absolutely awesome site here, with a great bunch of people.
I own an '05 Argo 6x6 Bigfoot (I bought new) w 25" Rawhide III's, and Bilge Pump, Remote & Dash Controlled Winch, brushguard, taillight kit, 12 v dc Power Points (2 in different locations), and an Alternator kit, all of which I installed myself.
So far, I've built a rear seat storage shelf, a behind backrest storage unit, a rear cargo basket 56"w x 24"L. I also built an over the hood cargo rack, with easy removal, and have added fog lights. I've also built a hardtop, but am currently working on a self-standing windshield frame, with fold down windshield. Once done with that, time for a soft-top, first outta vynle, then out of 1/4" thick black leather, snap-on/off. I'm also going to build a snowplow mount, come spring.
Other gear I have added, and is stored on-board but outta sight, is a switchable 4 port 12 VDC Power Point Station, and a 600-900w peak Power Inverter w/2 110 VAC outlets.
I'm kinda a jack of all trades and master of a few. I ride on my own land, since Army Corp shut down access to the ORV's here in MO for amphibians.

Anywho, a big howdy to everyone.
                              Keep on ridin!!!
