Another New Guy
I was asked to intro myself and so i will. I go by Spits because i used to eat a lot of sunflower seeds. I live near the town of Goderich, Ont. My intro into aatv's was by way of 68' Jiger i bought in a box. The engine was pooched(12h.p. Hirth-good for a boat anchor at the best of times,MY opinion) so I mounted a 300c.c. Yamaha. The project got put on hold because of mundane things, like work and things my wife thought more important-which was anything. She took an instant dislike to the Jiger. After six years, my buddy decided it was a good project for him,so i sold it to him. He also has a '82 8x8 Argo. Now I am looking at a 82 or 83 Argo 6x6( which is what I've wanted since I was a kid, many moons ago). It is in good to better shape,16 Techumseh,Runamucks, winch, can't see any cracks in the plastic etc. What is something like that worth in Southwestern Ontario,in Can. dollars?

I am the swamp king in my area
I'm normaly into 4x4 trucks and stuff. I have a small , Well not that small Suzuki Samuri on 44's. I also have an old ford on 44's. I'm contiplating on building another "zuki". (when you have 1 you have to have 2, you guys understand) I also have a couple 4x4 quads. I ran across a guy that was riding one of these on one of our "Turkey Runs" last thanks giving. He wassnt really running it though. It was full of people. It was pretty cool, BUT,,, I was wondering what these things are realy capable of. Oh, and how many people it can carry, Weight limit, I would imagine the less weight the better. How about up or down angles, How steep could i go up or down? I NEED to live up to my name. I found some videos on youtube. I like to see some serious mudding or extreme terain. My "Sammi" , we get this thing into some serious spots, inbetween trees and hills, sometimes you REALY gota think on how to get out. (hahaha after you think "y did i go in here")
Well thats enough for now. Hopefully some of you can direct me to some "extreme terain" videos.
Thank You
Swamp King

GeoFox
Greetings, I am a new guy on the block. George is my name.
I bought a 1972 Swamp Fox, 6-wheels, last November. It was in OK shape but I have gone through it replacing and tweaking. Onan engine runs good, chains staying on is another story. I have a farm with 20 acre duck lake (swamp), 18 acre lake, river through the middle, and lots of river bottom land. This machine is perfect there!
My big reason for finding this site is I am baffled with my tire situation. It had these old chevron style 26" but they were cracked up and 6-ply...ouch! They worked just fine in the water though. I bought 25" Mudbusters and they won't work in the water even though I've seen a video where they were great. I've even tried them mounted both ways and it makes no difference, I just sit and spin. Thank God for the bilge pump and some wind! Am I just stupid or what?
Like the site though not too forum savvy...any info as to how it works? I would like to add a pic or two.
Good times...GeoFox

Buffy Has Arrived
We traveled fromPortland, ME, to Muncy, PA, picked up a Worthington trailer at the factory and continued on to Buffalo, NY, to take delivery of our new Max Buffalo Truck. After a slight challenge with the trailer lights, we returned safely to Portland, where I registered the new AATV as a boat, a snowmobile and an ATV--no hassle; the state was happy to take my money. Knowing of the friendly competition between Max and Argo owners, we've named the machine, "Buffy, the Argo Slayer." We'll see if she lives up to her name.Buffy and I plowed snow yesterday for five hours--should be a pretty good break-in for the Kohler engine.
