  • Hello, Simon Parrott here. I'm located in Henderson, TX. I just traded my boat for a hustler 6X6. I plan on using it at my deer lease for hunting and getting around. I have no clue about these cool vehicles but, as a retired Marine, I am really digging it and its similarity to how a tank operates. I was told that the engine was upgraded from a 12 hp to an 18 hp. It is running rich and spitting alot of exhaust. Gotta get that fixed so it doesnt smell so much. Any help is greatly appreciated. I figure it may be a carb adjustment. Thanks for adding me to your site.

    • Welcome to the site Simon, and yes that definantly sounds like a carb issue.
If you can pull the carb and send it t someone to be rebuilt, (that is if you suck at carbs like I do) and replace all the fuel line. The rubber hose breaks down and will start polluting your carbs to death.

While your at it a set of new plugs and new oil she should run like a dream.

Just joined today... I have looked at 6 Wheelers for over 10 years and finally bought a 93 Max II. Learning a lot and just starting to have fun, after I do a little restoration.

              • Thanks for the add. Been looking at site for a few years. Have about '70 El Gato (later known as Badlands Pug) #10105, built in Anaheim Ca. Was sold new here locally and I have some of the original documentation to that fact. Will give some pictures soon as I can figure that part out.

                  • Hi folks

I've been riding quads for longer than I care to remember but decided I'd have a go at 8 wheels instead. I'm now on my second Argocat bought a project at first which is still ongoing. Very keen deer stalker and after shooting two big stags last week I decided that I was past dragging the weight 328lb on the the butchers hook and the other 314 lb. so I've been out and spent more money and bought a conquest. Desperately trying to find out the best way of fitting a winch. I'm told that some just fasten it to the tub with a backing plate on the inside? Can't see any other way without removing the engine to weld backing plate down to the chassis. Can't wait to get the Argo down onto my hunting ground to try it out but it's wet boggy ground and I don't doubt the winch will come in to use at some stage.

                    • Hi olldfella, welcome to the forum. You are correct about the winch mount having a backing plate but it will also be tied down to the frame. Check out this recent thread: http://www.6x6world.com/forums/argo-...ch-hoop-2.html , specifically this post where Kris W. posted some pictures: http://www.6x6world.com/forums/argo-...tml#post204439 That will show you what the tie-in looks like. Good luck hunting. Hopefully your Conquest will make your life much easier.

                      • Anyone in Southern California?

Hi there! I'm looking to see if anyone with a 6x6 vehicle is in Southern California - preferably in the Los Angeles/Orange County area. I do a lot of film and video production and am looking to shoot some footage of 6x6 vehicles in use. Seems like everyone is back east though.
