Although it runs really well for its age (1979) I see it as fun project for years to come for my son and I who is just learning about engines and such. Anyhow, more to come but for now just wanted to say hi. I would like some info on my Argo if anyone can help ie the model etc.. thanks in advance ....just trying to figure out how to attach a pic lol
Welcome to the site. Nice to see another vintage Argo nearby.
Your Argo looks very similar to mine which is an 1983 TB model except your controls are on the opposite side.

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.

Welcome hawkeye, congratulations on joining us with your Max II. I'm actually surprised no one has jumped in yet, next time post your questions in the Max forum for quicker response.
As far as removing the floor seat combo its a little tricky, this is how i do it.
Standing on left side of machine, place trans in reverse, after removing pin(if so equipped) put rt hand behind seat and left hand in stick hole and pick straight up and slightly forward towards gas tank over brake pedal, now tilting floorpan up towards vertical lift up and back together and out over sticks. If your machine has stick springs, place left hand in stick hole and pull back sticks with right once half out as floorpan is lifted out.

                    Hope this helps.

                    • Hello Mike yes I did make a post back in 2010 under the name Allison don't know how I ended up with FA256 I am one and the same now I am 63 still live in upstate new York. Sold my 2010 argo. now looking for a max still the best. Very disappointed in my argo. Heavy in the front makes it hard to exit any body of water, and not a real full six wheel drive. You still have great site.

Max2.jpgMax3.jpgMax1.jpgWell finally. After asking a few questions here on the site and looking at past posts I decided bit the bullet and purchase my first 6x6. You'all convinced me. My new(used) ride is a 2004 Max IV. Tracks, 27hp Kawasaki engine, cab cover and winch. Seems to be in immaculate condition. Little over 400hrs. Tracks are in great shape. Looking forward to using it in the snow here in Idaho. I bought it mainly for winter use since I have ATVs for summer. Planning to make a few mods and add a few things. I'll probably be asking a few questions now and again. Thanks for the add and for the information already provided.

Welcome back FA256, I remember a couple of pictures from Allison. Sorry the Argo didn't work out for you but up there in Max Land you should have no issue finding a replacement.

                              • Hi,
I'm new to AATVs and to this forum and to forums in general. My name is Eura and I'm from Northern Kentucky in a very hilly terrain. I have a farm there and have had ATVs, UTVs and 4wd pickups and tractors to work the farm and to run around on. I'm recently disabled and needed a vehicle that would be less likely to get stuck somewhere which would mean I'd be seriously up a creek.

After researching it I decided that AATVs were the best bet. A friend let me try out his older Vantage Argo and I loved it. I could pull up into my front lawn right to my front porch without tearing up the grass. So I bought a 2017 Argo Frontier 8x8 S and it was great. But very quickly I started having problems with it, so it's been sitting in my front yard forever. I still think they are a great machine and superior to anything I've ever driven on rough terrain. I look forward to being a part of the group here.
