Welcome aboard all and hope to hear from you on the site. Great place this 6x6 world site
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways , cigar in one hand, whiskey in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!!"
Hello to everyone on this site. I am new to the Forum and thought I would intro myself. Im Chris.
I have always loved 6x6 and 8x8s but never owned one. I am now 47 and looking for one to make my own. Im not a hunter I do fish but not alot. I just think that these machines are way cooler then any of the new ATVs and 4x4s people have now. I mean they float. go anywhere. I would like one to take to Sturgis and just to that out and have fun with. I am handy with my tools. So Im not sure if it would be better to find an old one that needs restoring or first buy a newer one to learn the ropes on Any thoughts
any way all you people lucky enough to already have them I look forward to your advice and friendship.
Chris
P.S. Im in Colorado right now but moving to Texas soon anyone know where and what are the best models to have
First let me welcome you to the site and the world of 6x6 vehicles.
Now go to the the forum section and look at the different type machines and see which one fits your needs or wants. There is a ton of info on these forums that was put there by the members.
Check out the videos of the machines in action this may help you to decide also.
Texas seems like it would be a great place to ride with a lot of wide open places. In this case you may want to look at something with "SUSPENSION" now that is Whipper's department. This is another machine altogether.
I am sure you will receive a lot of other input from the site members. Check all the different machines available. This will give you some insight into the different machines and start the choice process. Look forward to seeing you on the site and wish you luck in finding your machine.

I joined this group a while ago and thought I better speak up and introduce myself so when I add my $0.02 ($0.016 US) to a thread you guys will know where I'm coming from.
I own a few Penguin and Beaver AATV's and have the site a few of you may have seen. I don't own a 6 or 8 wheeler. I have played around with small engines for quite a while. I enjoy getting older machines up and running again, lately my collection of vintage snowmobiles has been keeping my hands dirty so I am familiar with 2 strokes and Tillotson carbs. I am near Ottawa Ontario
Kevin, I think every time that someone has brought up a Penguin or a Beaver someone links right to your site. You have a great collection of information on such a rare machine.
Hello everyone my name is Roy and I live in Central Alabama. I ride 4 wheelers as much as I can. We ride in Talladega and a few other places , I'm always looking for new places. Haven't rode a 6x6 yet but I am planing on getting one in the next couple of months. Never see a 6x6 on the trails in this part of the country. We do a variety of riding, such as mud bogs, creek riding and trail riding. Amphibious would be the coolest...
Kevin,, post some pictures of your unique and rare machines.
coosaridgerider , I was an atv rider before I got my first amphib, but after experiencing the places I could go, that were never before possible with my Plolaris 500,, my atv days were over! I can go where they go,, but they can,t always go where I go.
Hello fellow offroaders. My name is Nody and I love bushwacking
and mudboggin. So it looks like i'm in the right spot. I've been browsing
this site and I feel right at home.
I'm a real argo fan but i love my Prairie Bobcat too. I live in the Edmonton
Alberta area.Look forward to some great forums etc.
Have lurked on this site for some time. Never had the need to do any more
than read and look at all pics, thank you very much.
Now I have found two Argos for sale, and I was wondering if, with serial and model # , can I find out what year and model they are?

You guys are just having way too much fun! I'm gonna fulfill a dream that I've had for years and treat myself to an aatv. I thing that a Max IV might suit me best. I don't see much chatter on the forum about ground clearance and problems on rough terrain. I will go for 26 inch tires and possibly sheet over the bottom because I've drug my ass too much over the years (). Do the 26 inch tires effect the power to climb with a 23hp engine? ANY COMMENTS?
Thanks
Al
