      • Nelson from NH! Well after looking for an ARGO for a while, finally bought a used '87 6x6 with a tecumseh 16hp oh160 with standard tracks. I have a few questions for the folks out there. It seems to be a hard starting little rig, once it is going runs great. Does anyone have any tricks on the best method to start this argo? It has a choke and a electric fuel pump that is on one position from start. Also, what type of trans fluid do people recommend in this years trans? If anyone knows more about these '87 6X6 i would take any information you have.

        Thanks again
        NP

        • 135rpilot, welcome to the site. You may want to start a thread in the Argo forum since not everyone checks this introduction thread. I know the transmission fluid has been discussed on the site before. If you use the search you should be able to find that.

              • Good day, I,m new to this so, I'm from Fort Frances On, I own a 77- 86 argo 8x8 with a tecumseh engine, buy it 5 years ago at a yard sale used it once, then let my older brother to use it and came back with a blown transmission. So I disassembly it and gave him the job to find the parts, five years later I end up having time and rebuild the trans. But I need some info on adjusting the steering brake on it it has the old stlye brake calipers. If anyone has the manual gave me a price. My previous job that I worked at was the dealer for them, but since I went on my own on Heavy Equipment repair they gave me their backs.

                      • I am currently deployed and recently bought my first AATV. At first my plans were to get a Polaris 4x4 but while looking on cragislist I came across a Max II and remember them from when I was a kid. My interest quickly turned from a 4x4 to a 6x6. My being a 63H Tank Repairer coming up in the Army help fuel that fire for the 6x6. I really like putting vehicles to the test and have plans already for my 6x6. I will post pictures as soon as I get back home. Can wait!

                            • Welcome to the site CBass and Luke and all other new members!

CBass, I think you are going to have a blast on a 6x6! You said you like putting vehicles to the test, please take videos!!! I would love to see them.

Luke, I would suggest you post your tire question in the tire section because a lot of members I think overlook this thread. You will get a better answer.

                              • Sounds like fun, a few of my Cousins are ATV owners and I am looking for a chance to show them what AATV's can do. Goldsboro is just up the highway from my hometown. I look forward to it.
