    • Welcome Marshgunner! You have some nice machines there. I would fix them and ride if I had them. Post some pictures so we can see and if you need help getting them going, you came to the right place for advice.

        • good morning 6x6 world, my name is rob, and have been involved in atv's and snowmobiles all my life. always wanted a 6x6 since i was young. now that i found one that i could afford i rebuilt it. changed all the chains and bearings, and what ever gears needed to make it right. replaced the m-20 with a new vanguard 23 hp engine and cant wait for my first ride. me and the family are into demolition derby, and it gets really muddy around the track, so the wife is happy she wont need to walk in it anymore. will be back often, as there is a lot to read and learn here. thanks 6x6 world.

I just bought a 197? 6x6 argo with a K440 in it it has a top and windshield never driven it yet I have to fix the exhaust before I can drive it.

really bought it to drive the wife and kids up to the cottage in winter the only way to get there is by snowmobile.

going to put a heater in it and make some tracks out of snowmobile tracks anyone tried this before and have any advise

            Thanks daren

            • Hey to all you new members, welcome to the site.

              Mitch, congratulations on your Hustler.
Rob, sounds like you will have a machine that should give you lots of trouble free usage. Just don't get it mixed up with your demo car and start climbing over people.
Daren, good luck with your Argo. There are a few threads on making your own tracks. If you will use the search you can probably find them.

              • Hi,
My name is Bill and I live in upstate NY close to the Canadian border. I have purchased a 1997 Argo Conquest with a ton of work needed. I purchased all of my bearings and seals and even 3 housings. I am waiting for warmer weather to finish the job. A member of our hunting camp used to have a 6x6 Max which served us well because where we hunt has a lot of beaver ponds that need to be crossed. I really need to finish this rebuild because the wife is wanting her garage back! LOL! I have read most of your posts and found some great tips for what I need. I will talk to you soon. Thanks for a great forum. Bill

                • Hi Everyone and hello from Canada !
                  Home the famous Argo !!
My brother (51) and myself(48) just bought a 1982 6x6 Argo all rebuilt and in unbelivable condition. Hardly a make on the belly pan. Only problem is ODG has stopped making winch brackets for it
Does any one have plans for a home made bracket to help these newbies out ?
Great site and so happy I joined...

                  • Welcome BillyBob, we have many members in NY state close to your area.

Hello PeteBiss, A lot of members here run older machines. Post a thread for what your looking for in the "Argo" forum on the site and I'm sure you'll get some help. You could also post a wanted ad in the parts section for the bracket if you didn't feel like fabbing one up.

                      • Hi Guys,
I only rode in an Argo once in my life, and it was cool. I have all kinds of ATV's including a newly purchased Tricart, and a tricub coming in about 2 weeks from Florida. I have been creeping around here for a week looking for info on the SR Tricarts, and everyone seemed really easy going, so I figured Id join up and drag you into these restores. The Cart needs a seat pan and rear tires and has the JLO in decent shape, good compression, and the cub just needs a belt. Ill post up in the "what the h*!! did I get myself into" section later!!!! I have 2,3,4 and 5 wheel (old Gator) toys, so I guess a 6 wheeler is the next step. Ill wait until I cant ride the 3 wheelers anymore for that.

I live in Central Bucks County, Pa. and we have a small farm we are trying to turn into a local fresh produce store, and hopefully some October and Christmas events. My wife is in sales and I am a self Employed Carpenter/ Home Remodeler. I have 2 daughters and they enjoy alll kinds of outdoor activities, including ATVing. Im looking forward to meeting some new people, and excited in getting some help with these Sperry Rand machines. The girls are already calling the Cart a mini Batmobile, and want me to paint it black. They dont even know about the cub yet.

                          • Hey everyone. Don here. I just joined up. I haven't been on an amphib since I rode a 28hp Hustler in 1976. I saw the independent suspension setup on Utube and this got me all interested again after all of this time. Does anyone out there know where I can buy the suspension kit? I read that they come from somewhere in Arizona but that's all. Thanks.

                                Hi Don,

You may have seen either one of my videos, Lewis's, or Whipper's. Whipper-ag and Model Citizen on this are the folks out of AZ that have developed the "Springer" kit. Type in "springer" in the serach engine at the top of this site and you'll find about a dozen threads on the topic.
