  • Hi
I am Ting Tong from South Africa. I live on a farm in the central Freestate I intend to build a 6x6 amphibian 4 seater (limited bugget)
I hope somebody can help me with a plan or idees on constructing such a vehicle. I thing I have above average handskills and a reasonable workshop. In Africa you can only drewl about price's and goodies in your country and if you want something strange you have to fabricate it or modify it to serve your purpose.
    Regards from a Sunny S A

    • Hello Ting Tong, welcome to the site. I think if I were in your position I would try to at least purchase a T20 transmission even if you have to have it shipped to you. Use that as your starting point and build your 6x6 around that. Good luck with your build.

Count me in! We've been discussing a trip to Busco and I wasn't aware there was an event based around AATV's! For sure, myself and wifey and most likely some close friends will meet yall there!

I am not versed on these maintenance on these machines but I ride the hell out of mine. I'm in central North Carolina so when your machine is operational shoot me a message and I'll come ride in the mountains!

            • Hello, my name is wally i have a 1985 argo 8x8. Im putting a kohler 31hp efi water cooled engine in it. This is my first argo, i dont know much about them. I have modified many 4 wheelers and side by sides before. This seems to be a pretty simple progect. I have allready mounted the engine and plan to fabricate the cooling system this weekend. If anyone has done this before info would be welcome. I have the old kohler kt 17 with 1" threaded clutch if anyone is interested thanks wally

Hi Mad Max, there are a few members within a couple of hours of you but I bet you can handle the rebuild. A max II is a pretty simple machine and if you run into any issues just start a new thread and someone should be able to point you in the right direction.

Hi Wally, That 31HP motor should be a beast in your Argo. Start a new thread in the parts for sale forum on this site to sell your Kohler and clutch.
