Hi all......I'm new to the forum. So glad to see others that share the same interests in AATV's. It seems I'm kinda of a rare one out here on the west coast!

          • Thanks for the welcome....I'm in the process of looking for a 6x6...Even thought about buying a new 40th blue Max II?

Anyone have any info on the blue Max with the blue hard top in the gallery pic's, page 6. I think it was posted by "egoperf" said it was a 1050efi? Is it a one-off by RI or a new model???

One of these should fit the bill just fine.

              • Hello all!

I've been using this site for info and finally had the time to sign up. I bought a (well) used mid 70's 6X6 last summer and ended up tearing it down to the frame and starting from scratch. New engine (18 hp Vanguard), new bearings, chains, etc. (took lots of pics thru the whole ordeal). We finished the last bolt, loaded it in my truck and headed north for an Elk hunt. Argo worked great, but had loose chains, couldn't go too far. Have it all fixed up now and is working excellent. Thank you all who unknowingly helped me put this together thru the info in your threads.
Looking forward to meeting some of you and sharing info. Here's some pics if I can get them to work!

Machine looks great! You have done well. What part of the country are you from?
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways , cigar in one hand, whiskey in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!!"

                            Hello Wildman,
The old brake system was crappy, most of the reason the argo was abandon when I found it. I got my hands on an argo manual for a Vanguard 6X6 and ordered the brake parts from it. The new parts were much beefier and have caused no problem. I will attach the brake part numbers. I ordered them from Richard at Richards Relics, had them sent up here to British Columbia.
                            Hope these numbers help!!

Hi Lewis, I live up in British Columbia, about 5 hours west of Vancouver. I'm not sure if you have many of us Canadians on the site, but theres quite a few Argo's here, especially up north in the Muskeg. Ii hunt alot up there and the Argo is the only machine for the job!
