Welcome to the new guys! Glad to have you on the best AATV site on the net! Post up some pictures and you will find lots of help. Great bunch of guys and girls here to help keep this sport alive.

By the way we have a ride in Busco in 2 weeks scbiker and would be great time to meet a lot of the site member and check out the machines. There should be a wide variety of machines at the ride. You will enjoy it. This is a open invitation to all the members.

Glad to see all the new member and their machine.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways , cigar in one hand, whiskey in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!!"

    • Hello--

I am new to this forum. But, I have been enjoying and benefiting from reading your posts, so I thought I would register so that I could be more a part of the forum.

I live in rural central Pennsylvania. My two brothers and dad each have a 4 wheel drive 4 wheeler. Most of my uncles and cousins that I hunt with all have some type of 4 wheeler, and I still have only an old 3 wheeler. Years ago my family had a couple other 3 wheelers and even a few dirt bikes.

But regardless of all of the machines my family and I have owned and played with over the years, I am still impacted by one machine that my one brother used to have . . . an old Chaparral 6 wheeler. (Actually, he still has it, but it is not in running condition.)

It was unreliable, as it was old and worn out when he bought it. It was loud, as it had a 2 cycle engine that would really wind out just to make the machine run. But . . . with all of that said, when it was actually working . . . it was so much fun!!!

I am currently SOMEWHAT in the market for my next ATV. (But, money is definitely a hold back issue for me right now.) My three wheeler is just not enough machine for me any more. I am getting bigger and older, and it does not get me where I want to go any more. So, I am planning on selling my 3 wheeler and buying something else.

So, that is why I am here . . . to learn more about 6 wheelers . . . partly because I have a deep-rooted love for this machine from my youth and partly because I am considering getting one to serve as my next machine.

I am a registered forum member of other forums of other topics, so I know the value of getting involved in a forum of a topic of interest. I am sure I will gain a lot from being a member of your community.

      Hello, all.

          • Thank you, mudbug3 and Mike, for your welcome.

I am checking out the "classifieds" section. I am trying to see what--if anything--I could get for my price range.

(That is IF I can even come up with ANY extra money in the near future. Haa Haa!!!)

I am hoping to be able to get something that works well and is reliable. I do not care a lot about the year. I care nothing, specifically, about the cosmetics, though I would prefer a dark color for hunting purposes. I just want to get something that works well and is reliable.

I am hoping to get something like this for around $2,000.00 to $2,400.00. I am not sure if that is reasonable.

            • That is definitely reasonable and obtainable. If you are patient you can even find better deals than that on ebay and/or craigslist. Good luck.

                    hey guys,

new to your site, hoping to find a good used 6x6 or 8x8. I am 28, live in md, and have several different atv's over the years, currently I have an polaris rzr 800 sxs.

looking for an 8x8 on a budget , preferably a rolling chassis , no motor necessary.

thanks in advance, keep rubber side down

Just curious . . . I assumed you were just kidding when you mentioned fixing up my brother's old Chaparral . . . but, do you think it would be worth the time, effort, and money it would require to fix it up??? Are/were they a decent enough machine that it would justify the time, effort, and money that would be required to get this one running again??? It is not in that bad of shape. It probably only needs some engine work and some other minor TLC.

Thanks in advance for your feedback on this.

                                Hello,
Chaparrals are no longer made and are pretty rare machine. It would be very cool to see it running again.

I dont think Lewis was joking.
