Hello, I'm new to this sight and the World of 6x6 vehicles. Not new to ATV or off road vehicles, I also have a Manx dune buggy, a Jeep CJ-7, and still have my dirt bike I got new as a kid (quite a few years ago). I now have kids and just recently picked up a Scrambler 6x6 for them to have fun with. They are having a blast with it already. It is a model 1000, but has the 8hp B&S motor. Looks to be pretty much original, but then again, these are all new for me. Though in pretty good shape and working, plan on restoring it and looking forward to picking the brains of all the experts on this forum as I (and hopefully kids helping) restore this thing.
Steve

Welcome Michigan member Steve! Nice scrambler you have!
Mike, 980!!WOW Those are nice! Welcome aboard!
dyno-d, Sweet! Thanks for intro. What machine do you have?
Hello, my name is Shawn and I just joined this site, I have a ramco retriever that i finally almost finished and been finding out a lot of good info on this site and thought i should join. I have been involved with many toys from gokarts to offroad sand cars, but this is the first 6x6 ive owned. Always looking for more info. Thanks.
Hello to all. My name is Wilf Sainio from Thunder Bay On Canada. Thanks Mike for letting me join. My Dad had bought a 1972 Terra Jet in 1982, with 40 hours on it. We kept it for 10-15 years but didn't use it a whole lot. It had a 399 Kohler 2 stroke and was noisy and with 4 wheels very rough riding. If I knew then what I know now I would have replaced the carb with a Mikuni. That would have solved a lot of problems in mild weather. I think I want to try an 8 Wheel Argo now. I have had 2 rides into camp on one. It is a 3 mile trip and mainly rocky with a couple of creeks to cross.
I have almost bought a mid to late 70's Argo 8 wheel that is supposed to still run for $300.00. I think we have it arranged to pickup this Sunday. It is a 4-5 hour drive away. If it can be made useable for 3-4 trips in I will know if I like the type of machine and can then decide if it is worth rebuilding or just look for a newer one in good shape. For $300.00 it isn't a very big investment even if it is just a parts machine.I rebuild a 1980 Alpine double track Skidoo which can't be a whole lot different. Parts for old machines seem to be the biggest problem.
thanks again for letting me join, from what I have read so far there is a wealth of info here. Wilf.
live in Maine work for the military have an argo conquest with kawasaki engine, supertracks, rops, canopy and a winch about to get a camo face lift. Had a max II with tracks sold it and then purchased and argo big foot then sold it now I have a conquest love it but the tranny whines real loud!
Welcome scouter!
Welcome Wilf! $300 is a perfect machine for testing them out. Hope it works well for you!
Welcome Gunnar, Sounds like your no bigger! Welcome to the site. If your worried about the tranny whine I would post a question about it in the argo section. Maybe someone can help.
