This should explain what an open differential is a little better.......

The name of the argo system is "we may be owned by a gear and drive company, but this is the simplest thing we could cobble together"

How many different systems are used?
The Argo seems to use a sealed system so I am not sure what you mean by open differential. So I guess this is one type of system
The T-20 I have seen used in many machines so I guess this is a Second type of system
I have seen an open concept type system on Jiger, Scrambles and some uncommon machines so this would be a third type of system I have seen. I have herd bad things about the open system but it may be easy to fix and identify the problems
what is the name of the Argo system

Argo does not use a T-20. Their transmission is an open differential that steers with disc brakes. As long as you keep both sticks forward on a T-20 machine, every wheel will drive......it won't stop or have an uncontrolled transfer of torque/ power to one side or another as the terrain varies like an open differential. The rear engine allows the machine to float level in the water which is another reason why I am a big fan of Maxes and other T-20 machines. I absolutely love the stick steering, and after driving these machines for a while, I or anyone else who has driven these machinees can maneuver the machine as good if not better than handle bar equppied vehicles like four wheelers and dirtbikes, especially with the zero turning radius. If you're ever at a ride come and take any of my T-20 equppied 6x6's for a ride and see what you can do in the mud.

I have seen allot of talk about the T-20 and thought that the Argo used it.
How do you find the steering with the stick over the handles bars?
I am not a big fan of the rear engine but I see some advantages to weight balance.
Maybe you guys can convert me

I respect all AATVs but choose the Argo
I choose the Argo for the following reasons
The steering is very used friendly Tee handle type
The front Engine seems to give it a very efficient use of space for passages and cargo
When you put an outboard engine on it the back end does not go below the water line
I do not know why but the Max's I have seen seem to take on Water even newish ones
The Max price tag is the same or greater for me up in Canada maybe they are Cheaper in the USA
If you know any real advantages to the Max Please let me know so far I have not seen any

261Max0%124Argo0%109Other0%28Here it is, the one thing that 6x6 enthusiasts fight about the most
Which AATV is the best off road machine. Of course it would be nice if you listed which specific models you were referring to and your reason too
But it's all in fun so support your favorite Amphib here!
