Hey guys got a older 80s model max II and was going to do a build thread as I am a complete noob and not greatly mechanically inclined. This way everyone knows that if I can do it anyone can. I will post pics hopefully tomorrow. So far I've got the body off electrical stripped, and all the axles out. I want it to be ready for duck season so will not be going all the way until after season ends. My buddy is finishing the 18hp Briggs were putting in and it will go back with a t20. Hopefully will get axles cleaned up and new bearing in them this weekend. Hope to also have tub and body cleaned up as well by this weekend. Wheels should be sandblasted and either powder coated or painted. After season I plan to strip it again, new chains, blast and pc frame, winch, tracks?
All input comments and suggestions are GREATLY appreciated!!!!

Without going back to the rest of the posts in the thread, have you really done a diligent check on the bearings to see if you have any play? I'll go out on a limb and say that they're probably original. Any low rumbles, grinding, or tight spots in them when you jack the machine up and spin the axles?
Figure around $600 for wheels and tires, and thats for the basics, not for big, bad aggressive mud tires.
and as far as the back engine cover could i make something like out of some lightweight diamondplate and just make some holders to bolt to it or is that not a good idea. Really wanting something back there so can tie decoys and eventually fab a gun rack up. was thinking maybe diamond plate cuz thinking about diamond plate for my floors but not sure yet
