    This is the beginning of the Max ID list. A list we can use to help determine the year of our machine or maybe looking for a machine but want splined axles can find out what year to go back to or... just a fun list of cool information. If anybody has the years of the model produced, axle styles,diameters, head light style change, engine model changes or any other info/changes please let me know. There may be mistakes here at first please let me know. I will edit this as we go. Thanks to all that help here.

    If you have a known model and can ID the year with this thread YEAR ID could you post it please. Thanks.

    19xx-Max, JLO 295, hdpe body
    19xx RIM
    19xx-Max 340-T, JLO 340 twin, hdpe body
    19xx-Max 295, JLO 295, 21.5 HP, 30mph
    19xx-1989(possible few later) Max II-4, Tecumseh oh160, 20mph
    19xx Big Max, kohler 440, 45mph
    19xx Max IV-2, Chaparral twin 484, 46hp, 35mph
    19xx-1989(possible few later) Max IV-4. Tecumseh oh160, 20mph
    19xx first year rimed tires replaces balloons
    19xx first year inner axle bearing replaced bushings
    19xx Buffalo Truck introduced
    1998-1999 splined axles introduced
    2001 first year of square headlights
    2001 Max IV rear seat moved back unconfirmed 3"

    Anybody know first year of RIM. And when name changed to MaxIV?

        1989 was supposed to be the last model year of the Tecumseh engine. There could have been leftover engines used up in 1980 models but very few.

          Hey thanks! I'll edit it when I can get the computer. I'm guessing "up in the 1980" was suppose to be 1990's?
