I'm going to replace all the bearings since i can't realy see any thing wrong with the gears or any thing else, but i feel realy strong about the whine coming from the tranny so since I have it out and apart I should do what my gut says.

How much wear should you see on the out put shaft from the shift collar?
I went into a parts transmission the other day. It is an old 9 tooth style with lots of wear. There is a noticeable wear pattern on the ring gear. But, to answer you question, I can't see any wear pattern on the splines of the shift collar and output shaft.

If yours has wear, and you are hearing a whine, I wonder if you have something bent?

I believe I found the whine in the transmission, the input shaft bearing fell apart as I started to remove it from the output shaft, the needles had worn to a point on the ends on all of them, they got damaged from the contaminated oil from the guy before me not changing it ,also i was making a tool to replace the sun gear bearings when the gear i was using to check the tool for fitness the bearings started to fall out of it so I got another one to finish the job. When I looked at the bearings I couldn't see anything out of the normal.

Also the wear I thought I had on the output shafts is a machined relief on the shaft when they make the splines, so no issues with the output shafts.

hopefully you found the problem. Check the bearing mating surfaces on the input shaft and drums. If they are rough they are going to make noise.
