I have to agree with HydroMike. Arizona looks like the place to be if your vehicle of choice is a 6 Wheeler. Looks like it's beautiful, wide and not too crowded. The only thing missing are the swamps...but your other video showing the Max running through the river and reeds show that you have a similar alternative....

Bridget's machine looks great. The videos are fantastic. I wonder if those camera would hook into my JVC hardrive camcorder?

In the past, you bought cam and plugged it into a camcorder's aux input. Lots of difference in camera quality and they have reviews and forums. Aux video in feature doesn't get included in many modern camcorders. The latest stuff includes an mpeg4 encoder and storage on common memory cards which makes a compact recorder for the remote cameras.

I have a JVC Everio. It's uses a 20G hard drive to record the video to. I remember when I bought it (2 years ago) at BestBuy, there was a helmet cam listed as an available accessory. I should really look into this.

great job! thanks for taking the time to document the progress!! i have been kicking around a similar idea for years but having 3 kids made it hard to justify the expense and time. did you research using 3 pairs of quad 4x4 independent rear ends,if so did you find they were not suitable for the demands of skid steer use. i also thought of using the front ends for front and rear(opposed steering in addition to skid steering) and rear end in middle. this way only need 2 junk yard quads instead of 3. cost effective and easy parts availibility to build and repair in future. also maybe i missed in thread but did you have a overall weight of springer kit?

I think I read in an older post that Whipper wrote ,that the springer kit adds about another 200 ?? maybe whipper can comment on this .

do you have a projected "ballpark" price for entire springer kit??? mass producing the tabs and smaller parts probably not a problem w/your cnc but would your lower control arm still need to be individually hand cut,bent and welded??? being probably the most vulnerable part, would replacement part be comparably priced to this mass produced lower control arm eBay Motors: POLARIS PREDATOR 500 LEFT LOWER CONTROL ARM FRAME (item 230222596499 end time Mar-14-08 08:30:14 PDT) @ $48 which includes shipping?? also have you done any crash testing to get a MPH impact required to bend one of your arms,a hydrolic bench test would be easy,say 5 tons of pressure for example before failure,but is hard to translate into real world durability.

it's all good,just looked like you were gearing up for small production run from the pic of the control arm mounting tabs being made....i certainly wasn't expecting you to crash one of your springer's! that wouldn't be necessary. i just figured you would have tested some individual arm's mounted to the side of any 700 pound test vehicle by now.....and when i said junk yard quads i meant blown engine or severe front end damage......rear ends often perfect! i just know the way i drive ,the added width and unprotected front wheel AND narrowness of trails i will be riding,lots a tree's,i know i'm gonna bend some front arms! i may not have the machines you have but i could certainly make my own sidewinder side plates.hardest part will be adapting quad cv axels to cut stock axles ......i want one .....even if i have to make it myself from parts from other machines AND quad hubs will have brakes which can be used for steering in my hydraulic stick steering setup...6 wheel out board disk brakes will eliminate braking force on TRANS, CV JOINTS and ALL CHAINS!!!!!power can be applied smoothly but skid steer braking puts lot of abuse on these parts....including CHAIN ADJUSTERS that are on the power side of chain configuration during braking..could a brake kit be adapted to your hubs...even if not used for steering would be awesome e-brakes..even just on front hubs..with the ADDED SPEED POTENTIALwith SUSPENTION GREAT FOR SLOWING DOWN IN A STRAIT LINE TOO!

Man crash tests, next will be 5 mph bumpers, air bags, anti lock brakes.
I just wanted a softer ride and better handling in rough situations.

Hi Bridget no doubt in my mind he knows what he's doing.
I did something simular on a vw motor a few years ago to add a remote cooler and oil filter.
You folks sure have a nice stable of rides, also must be nice to be looking forward to 90's soon. You remember back here in Ohio we would like to see 50 again.
