MaxII split shift modification "How to" video

Great video, I did the same on my Max2. It comes in handy when high centered, it allows you to either turn left or turn right when you are otherwise stuck. I rigged up a similar design on my Super Swamp Fox, but the linkage for it is a direct shift design in which you pull the shift rod(s) forward to go forward, and push them in to go reverse. It takes a bit more elbow grease, but I like the firm engagement of the t20.

Great example of the usefulness Noel!!
Another example is where I park it, it is between a few other machines and a porch. Before this, I would back it out, then go. With this, I can spin it around and go.
Thanks Russridesr and Duke! I hope it helps people understand how easy it is and how useful it can be.
Coming in a few weeks, Attex 252 colt split shift

What amazes me is the " ease " in changing from forward into reverse. No more rocking back and forth trying to get " both " shift linkages to line up at the very same time. All I have to do now , is push one lever either forward or reverse, and then give only a slight jiggle to the other shift lever, and into forward or reverse it goes. I also don,t know why this is,nt a factory option? Being able to counter rotate your tires really comes in handy when your in the water and need to change directions in a hurry.

I have my max split also and it work great. If you get in a tight creek and have to do a 180 it pivots right now. It also make the transmission shift much easier. Another nice mod is to put you steering shafts in a pipe bender and give them more tweak to the left so you are not sitting in the middle. It really helps if you take passengers along.

Great job, Larry. You made it look easy, and what's more you made it look like a factory job.I'll bet that we see lots more machines with a split shift soon!
Stuck in the seventies- not in the swamp.

Cool Larry! After having ridden in a machine without the s/s, once you have built and installed it, then driven the machine, you can't help but ask yourself "
now why didn't I do this sooner?" The wild part is: now you don't do donuts, only the holes!
I have done so many "holes" in soft dirt(not mud) that I almost high centered, the tub was rubbing the ground under the center-Yikes, talk about dizzy!
Although the quick turning is a definite advantage and always a plus, I only use that feature as a must. The thing I like most about having the 2 stick shifter is the super easy shifting from forward to reverse for "normal driving" (as if any of us drive NORMAL)Another plus is that it is always easy to know if the tranny is completely in gear on each side, I blew a shift collar last summer while still running my SCSLCASS(Super Confusing Single Lever Cable Actuated Split Shifter) I have no doubt that this would NOT have happened with a 2stick. Having seen how well Mudbugs worked after I built it, I put on the old thinking cap and chopped up the SCSLCASS and built a 2stick for the 950, and now the 980 also.
Congratulations and good jobDESTRUCTION is just a couple of vowels down the street from DISTRACTION
