            • just started welding the hull today was supprized how far i have gotton i have to grind the weld back because it looks like crap because i didnt clean the paint of the back of the alluminum so one side looks like crap the other is awsome because i cleaned the paint off. but i know now to do that in the future. i was also thinking about welding the inside aswell just to keep it nice and strong

              • Weld it anywhere you can and maby 2 passess in the corners. aluminum has to be extremely clean to weld so wire brush often.

                • i have three of the axel seals on and greesed up they look like they should keep water out but we will see and time will tell how long they will last but thery should because the nylon bush is a snug fit over the axle in the first place so that should be water tight then if when you add o-rings that will be even better

                  • Kelvin I used 1 3/8" four bolt flange cast iron brgs siliconed them to the hull on the outside with a thick water proof grease behind them then siliconed the axle where it goes thru the brg. pumped the brg full of the same grease and smeared it on the seal of the bearing.
Its not perfect but it dose'nt leak at all 8 brgs and will last just as long as everyone elses. I also grease them often and all I have to buy is the insert when they go out.

                    • well i got the thing floating today no major leaks i had a little water in the hull but i think that was from the tyre splash. it sits nose heavy in the water but not much i can do about that and the thing is so slow in water but i havent reved the tyres out yet because i havent got mud gards on it

                        • Looks good Kelvin, I thought it would be a little nose heavy. Now you need some fenders and a prop.

                              • I see you used Google Sketchup to design your body. If you ever need something designed feel free to ask me, I use Blender 3D which can make beautiful images and detail.
