Today Amphibious Drew picked up a really, really nice original Newt the Bold about 30 minutes from his place. This machine sat in the barn of the second owner for the past 20 something years. It's in beautiful condition under all the dust and mice nests. It has the original 12HP 4 stroke single cylinder Tecumseh with the 26x12x12 Goodyear Super Terra Grips with near new tread and no dry rot or weather checking. The original blue body, decals, and woodgrain dash are all in tact. With some buffing and waxing it's going to really shine. I was surprised that this one is blue because according to this sales brochure they were all yellow.
It's the original color and was never painted because the blue is impregnated into the gel coat. With a tune up, some fresh gas, new chains, and bleeding air out of the left hydraulic line, this baby should be up and ready to go!
Although it is missing the big blingin' grille up front, I think one can be sourced from an older Lincoln if I just can stand without having it on there. Then again, I think this thing needs to stay original so I'll manage to be alright without it.
Oh, and yes it really is that big! It's actually a tad bigger than my Super Swamp Fox!
