    Saturday's "Over 50" heat race:
Don and Whipper were battling it out until Don experienced some mechanical problems. Then Joe M's scrambler started acting up followed by Lewis in racerone3's Attex. (Someone forgot to turn the fuel on there ).

So after only a lap Whipper was the only one left on the track.

I thought my car was the only one that died in the over 50.

Being completely unfamiliar with Race's machine i had the fuel shut off on the Saturday race. I made sure that on Sunday that did not happen. While Whipper and Don were running there own race you and i were racing. I made it about 100 more feet(according to the video) then ran out of fuel. I actually thought that you were still in the race. Guys this was awesome.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways , cigar in one hand, whiskey in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!!"

      • I think every 2-stroke race ended with fewer cars than it started with, mine included. My nephew broke a tire bead only a half lap into the 2-stroke rookie race.

        • But he ran like a trooper in that race and any time he drove it. Was this his first time out with the racer? That machine ran a lot of races.

After trail riding on Saturday; I didn't think to fuel up before the trials on Saturday afternoon. I remember thinking while sitting on the starting line... "I should've put fuel in the tank". I think I made it two laps. I also had a Idler sprocket fail, chain adjuster fail and then, the fuel system developed some kind of vapor lock problem. Well, I found out what I need to improve for next year. Of the things that broke; I thought that the 40 chain would of been the first thing to go, but it held up great.

            • I remembered at the last minute to fuel up. It's amazing how much a two-stroke can burn when you're running it to the limit. I feel the same way about the #40 chains. I had multiple problems: some original and some I created trying to fix them, but none were caused by the small chains.

              Next year!

                • John plessinger brought it. He's the guy that designed the Tricart, the Wedge, and the "Stretcher" in the picture. He's also the one that drove it, along with Tricarts for the Sperry team in the three-wheeled races.

The original designer of the Tricart and Wedge, John Plessinger, Brought that to Ashtabula. He's one of the nicest guys you'll meet. The Stretcher Tricart, was all so his design. He was telling me that he just built a Tricart for a Museuem, out of the last parts and body that he had.

WOW! Don beat me to that post....

                    • Great Guy

It was a pleasure talking with John Plessinger. He and his wife were great people. He even autographed pictures for us. Q (Don's son) even got a poster from John and a pic in the ATV scene picture section.

In fact both of Don's sons made the picture section: PaPa looked proud!!!!
Great bunch you have there Don!

                        • I've got some pretty good in car video that I have to get off the cameras.

                          I'm ready.

                          • Here is Saturday's stock 4-stroke heat race that includes Marc's rollover. I asked Marc for permission before I posted it because it is a little graphic. The race was red flagged due to his rollover and then we started back up about 45 minutes later. Luckily Marc is doing ok now.

I rolled at the same time that Marc did so when the race was restarted I got a second chance. However, Lewis was in the yellow spider and I just couldn't catch him.
