I think Geogem took second on a limping machine. Shanna had some mechanical problems and I'm not sure if she finished.

It sure was. A lot of us did not finish. My Thunderchief racer lost spark completely during practice laps and I didn't even get to race it. But thank you for all the help trying to get it back up and going, everyone! Hydromike really helped out big time with tearing down the electrical system and troubleshooting it, but unfortunately it just wouldn't go.Originally posted by techfx View PostYeah, this seemed to been a rough year mechanically for a lot of us, except for Dad."Looks like you have a problem with your 4 wheeler........you're missin' two wheels there"

Personally, we can do all of the work we want here, just didn't have a time or place to test and tune and my machine was stored 30 miles away until a month ago... along w/ a wrecked car, one w/ a blown heater core, the other previously blown head gasket replacement, new home that needed a bit of construction, a wedding out of the country... At least nothing major was broken and we should have a good start for next year. Trying to get space made in one our garages to keep it closer though. There were too many wasted warm days in Feb.Originally posted by Model Citizen View Post

Now, now, you racers had a year to be ready. The Model Citizen says this with much affection.

I'll second that. I love racing, but second best is hangin' with all the 6x6 geeks making something run or just BS'in. This is a really good group.Originally posted by jerseybigfoot View PostWe are "Retro Racers. What creates more camaraderie then 5 grown men giving Don advise on the Gerber Springer. The broken axles, guided missile tires, misfiring engines make this sport priceless. So whats the fun in having a modern reliable machine.
Stuck in the seventies- not in the swamp.
(6) Attex, a Hustler, a Super Swamp Fox, (2) Tricarts, (3) Tri-sports, a Sno-co trike, 3 Dunecycles, and a Starcraft! ...so far

Dito!, guys. Racing is great but 6x6 members are some of the greatest people to hang out with to exchange conversion and fellowship with. Looking forward to next year.Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways , cigar in one hand, whiskey in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!!"
